First we'll take you to the archaeological site of Muyil, explore the jungle and admire the local flora and fauna. Then, we'll board a motorboat and cross the emerald waters of the Chunyaxché Lagoon through ancient canals to reach a unique mangrove river in the heart of Sian Ka'an. We'll let the river carry us through some of the most beautiful scenery the Biosphere has to offer. We'll wrap up this amazing day with a delicious beachside lunch with complimentary beverages.

Archaelogical site of Muyil
It is here, among this expansive natural diversity, that you will encounter some of the oldest Mayan archeological sites - dating back to 300 BC. Submerse yourself in the rich Mayan culture as you tour the ancient trade city of Muyil. This city is the most important of the 23 known pre-Hispanic settlements of the Sian Ka'an. Feel the magic as you walk through the ruins and take in the lush tropical forest and wildlife. Also known as Chunyaxché, Muyil was one of the earliest and longest-inhabited Mayan cities on the Yucatan Peninsula. This city was positioned in a prime location along a trade route accessible only by an elaborate system of mayan water channels which we will travel along today.
Exploring the jungle
After your guided tour and insight in Mayan culture we'll explore the jungle and wet lands typical for the area as your expert guides share a wealth of knowledge with you about the local flora and fauna.
