This beginner-friendly program teaches the essential knowledge and independent diving skills needed to dive with a qualified buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet).
The practical course portion takes place over 3 days, including 1 day for a pool training session and 2 more days for the remaining required open-water certification dives in the Caribbean waters of the Riviera Maya.

Knowledge Development
During the PADI Open Water Diver Certification course, you’ll learn the fundamental principles of scuba diving, including dive equipment, underwater communication, dive planning, safety procedures, and environmental awareness.
Confined Water TrainingYour training also includes pool sessions where you’ll practice and develop essential scuba skills in a controlled environment. You’ll learn buoyancy control, regulator recovery, mask clearing, underwater communication, and more. Confined Water Dives allow students to safely practice the skills learned during Knowledge Development sessions in a swimming pool or under similar controlled conditions before progressing to open-water training.
Open Water DivesThe course includes four required open water dives in the Caribbean Sea under the supervision of experienced PADI-certified instructors. These dives allow you to apply your skills in real underwater conditions while gaining confidence and experience.
