Become a certified diver with the PADI Open Water Diver course, the world’s most recognized scuba certification.


This beginner-friendly program teaches the essential knowledge and independent diving skills needed to dive with a qualified buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet).


The practical course portion takes place over 3 days, including 1 day for a pool training session and 2 more days for the remaining required open-water certification dives in the Caribbean waters of the Riviera Maya.

  • Please be aware that you must be at the check-in point 45 minutes prior to departure. Boarding will be closed 10 minutes prior to departure time.
  • To streamline your experience, consider completing your paperwork before arriving in Cancun or the Riviera Maya.
  • The minimum age for our PADI Open Water Certification course is 10 years old.
  • Following PADI’s flying after diving recommendations, novice divers should refrain from flying within 12 hours after a dive, while certified divers should wait 18 hours after completing two or more dives in one day.
  • Participants with respiratory, cardiovascular, or ear issues, as well as expecting mothers, are not eligible for this course.
  • Good mental and physical health conditions are required to participate.
  • Guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs are not allowed.
  • Students must complete the online theory section before beginning the pool training sessions

Knowledge Development

During the PADI Open Water Diver Certification course, you’ll learn the fundamental principles of scuba diving, including dive equipment, underwater communication, dive planning, safety procedures, and environmental awareness.


Confined Water Training

Your training also includes pool sessions where you’ll practice and develop essential scuba skills in a controlled environment. You’ll learn buoyancy control, regulator recovery, mask clearing, underwater communication, and more. Confined Water Dives allow students to safely practice the skills learned during Knowledge Development sessions in a swimming pool or under similar controlled conditions before progressing to open-water training.


Open Water Dives

The course includes four required open water dives in the Caribbean Sea under the supervision of experienced PADI-certified instructors. These dives allow you to apply your skills in real underwater conditions while gaining confidence and experience.
